We have really, really been enjoying this season of our life. Our life went from chaotic to normal and we are soaking it up! Joel's brother gave us his kayak last weekend (we're so thankful...these things aren't cheap!), so we took it out for a test drive today. Pittsburgh seems to be a city of kayak's...we're feeling a little bit more like Pittsburgh residents now .
We went to a state park about an hour from where we live. Today was just beautiful.

and enjoyed a picnic lunch with our adorable picnic basket--just $2 at our thrift store. We always have our books with us!

Joel enjoyed a couple rides in the kayak

He's so happy...he loves outdoorsy things....

We found a cute pumpkin stand on the way home. I live for these kinds of things. I have a strange obsession with road side stands. It was only $2/pumpkin!!!

and look, it was based on the honesty system...leave your $ in the Tupperware...we're not in Chicago anymore....

and drove a few fun country roads on the way home. These are my favorite!

Life is really fun when you have time to enjoy it....we're so thankful for this new season of our lives.
