Decorating Joel's Office

I'm so excited to start decorating Joel's office...or the area above his desk....he gets to share a tiny room with two other people all day, every day...and yes, we all question how much work actually gets accomplished in that small office.

I stole this idea off of Etsy, but wanted to make it unique to Joel & I...so I made our own...with a lot of help from Joel & gimp.  Joel pretty much did this entire project. He's an all star husband!

I started with a thirft store frame that of course I forgot to take a picture of. But trust me, it was ugly! I always wonder what the cashiers think of my decorating style when they see me purchase ugly pictures.

I tore the ugly picture out of it and painted the frame.  Then, left the glass on the floor and Joel stepped on it...breaking the glass into many pieces. Surprisingly, I wasn't upset, not sure why, maybe cuz the look on his face told me that he felt really bad for breaking the glass.

Back to the thrift store. Bought another frame & took out the glass.  But really, I'm thankful for this extra trip to the thrift store.  I found an old game of RISK that is worth $80 for just $6!!!  Believe me, we'll be selling it on ebay.

Then Joel spent an evening on Gimp being a bit OCD about making sure all the circles were exact and telling me how much he hates DIY projects.

Then we spent an afternoon store hopping for the cheapest printing place.  It's not Staples.

Now, I'm excited for Joel to hang it above his desk.  And yes, we're really, truly Best Friends.....i think this DIY is super sentimental to me, cuz we literally tell each other daily that we're BFF.  There's no one else I'd want to brush my teeth beside every night, enjoy the highs & lows of life with, & share all my secrets to.  I seriously just love that I get to be married to my best friend!
