As long as both Joel & I pass our TB tests, we should be licensed foster parents by mid-December. We are really excited about the possibility of being parents very soon, but also know we easily could wait a year before any children are placed with us. I've tried to not be too anxious about decorating the baby room, but my head is just swimming with ideas. It would be helpful if foster children came with due dates.....
You may remember the baby dresser I blogged about HERE. I set out to decorate the inside of the drawers today.
(the little brown basket will one day house all of the baby's lotions)
7 Steps to Happiness (for your drawers):
Step 1: Find scrapbook paper to coordinate with your bedding. (Hint: thicker, darker scrap book paper will be much easier to use) My two picks to bring together the white, brown, green, & circles while keeping everything gender neutral.
Step 2: Take all of the clothing out of the dresser.

Step 4: Paint Mod Podge on the bottom of your drawers, then cover with your scrapbook paper. Some tutorial's online will tell you to recover the paper in mod podge, but this only caused wrinkly paper for me. Try to keep your cat out of the way. If she is anything like Kitty, this is nearly impossible.

Step 5: Allow time to dry. Notice, you can see a line with the lighter green paper, but not the brown. Some online tutorials say you can use wrapping paper. Make sure it's extra thick wrapping paper or you may have a major wrinkle crisis.
(yes, our babies will be wearing those adorable fuzzy slippers one day)
(Piper's mommy has been so gracious and given us TONS of baby clothes)
